New times, old problems: journalism in the pandemic

The Permanent Seminar on Science, Communication and Culture Policies returns this October with a reflection on “Journalism: a profession at risk?”. In this meeting we will discuss the scenario of the growing precariousness of Journalism and journalistic practice in Portugal in the context of the pandemic. How to consider the current public communication and media management policies? Thinking, discussing and envisioning new ways of the profession are among the objectives of this session promoted by POLObs – Observatory of Science, Communication and Culture Policies (CECS / UMINHO).

For this meeting, we invite Paulo Martins, a professor and researcher at ISCSP – University of Lisbon. The session will be held online, on October 26, starting at 4 pm, through the Zoom platform and the CECS Facebook page.
